Sometimes one piece of old fabric turns into an entire collection.
We've been working with a limited amount of this 1990s desert camouflage ripstop, and for this batch we decided to see how many different useful pieces of gear we could create from it. The result is a small collection that includes a lined groundcloth, food sack and three different sizes of our bucket bags.
The desert camo has a great muted combination of tan, brown and olive tones that looks especially good paired with our tan and brown waxed canvas. Because this is older material that we only have a limited amount of, this isn't a one of a kind collection, but once we've worked through this fabric, it's gone.

Jr Groundcloth
Our Jr Groundcloth is made with 10.1 oz tan waxed canvas on the ground side and lined with the 1990s desert camo ripstop.
The waxed canvas creates a durable barrier between you and the ground while the ripstop gives you a lighter fabric surface on the other side. It's a handy size for sitting around camp, protecting gear, creating a clean work surface or giving yourself a dry spot in the woods.

Food Sack
A simple drawstring sack made from the desert camo ripstop and designed for carrying and organizing food or other lightweight camp supplies.
Measures approximately 7.75" wide × 13" deep.
XS Bucket Bag
The smallest of the three bucket bags is made from the 1990s desert camo ripstop with a brown waxed canvas bottom for added structure and durability.
Measures approximately 7.5" tall × 4.25" diameter.
This little size is great for small camp gear, EDC, fire starting supplies, cords and all those little things that are easy to lose inside a larger pack.
Small Bucket Bag
Made from the same desert camo ripstop with a brown waxed canvas bottom.
Measures approximately 8" tall × 5.25" diameter.
The small gives you a little more room while still packing down easily when it isn't being used.
Medium Bucket Bag
The largest bag in this collection is also made from the desert camo ripstop with a brown waxed canvas bottom.
Measures approximately 9" tall × 6.25" diameter.
With its wider footprint, this one gives you considerably more room for camp supplies, food, cooking gear, larger EDC setups or whatever else you need to corral.
About the Fabric
One of our favorite things to do at PNWBUSHCRAFT is take older materials that still have plenty of life left in them and turn them into useful gear.
This camouflage ripstop dates to the 1990s, and instead of letting a great piece of fabric sit unused, we're giving it another chapter. Working with older materials also means there may be slight variations, marks or other evidence of their previous life. We consider those part of their character.
The waxed canvas used in this collection is our 10.1 oz 100% cotton waxed canvas. Waxed canvas naturally develops creases, scratches and marks with use, eventually creating a patina unique to the adventures you take it on.
