1920s Halloween Pocketknife Slips
We didn't just find this Halloween fabric. We made it.
My daughter and I started with images of Halloween decorations from the 1920s featuring wonderfully quirky cats, owls, witches and pumpkins. We photographed the original artwork, digitally worked with the images to create our own repeating pattern, and then had our finished design printed onto fabric.
And, of course, once the fabric arrived we had to turn it into gear.
These Pocketknife Slips pair our custom orange Halloween fabric with rugged black waxed canvas. Because of the way the pattern is cut, each slip captures a different piece of the artwork, making every one a little different.

A Little Piece of Halloween History
One of our favorite things about this project is getting to take artwork created more than a century ago and give it an entirely new life.
The wide eyed owl, surprised black cat, witch and pumpkins have all the wonderfully strange personality of early Halloween decorations. Instead of reproducing a single image, we turned the collection into a fabric pattern that we can use in our own designs.
That means these aren't simply Halloween Pocketknife Slips. The fabric itself started as a PNWBUSHCRAFT family project before we ever sat down at the sewing machine.
Limited Edition
We created this fabric specifically for this collection, and these slips are being made in limited quantities.
Pattern placement will vary, so the character or artwork featured on each slip may be different. Please choose your favorite from the available options.
