This is a very multi-purpose piece of gear. Our original travel tray is a lot smaller and works for holding all kinds of items. Our XL tray will hold a ton and has this double layer of canvas. It is even great to toss down on a log or stump so you don't get your bum dirty when you have a seat in the woods. It even works great as a game space if you are into playing dice and want to keep them somewhere safe while out in the woods. I bet it would even look great on the dining room table holding bread or on the coffee table holding remotes. The uses are endless.
This very elegant and sturdy waxed canvas tray is sure to be a great addition to your gear. It is designed to hold all kinds of items and will fold up very small too (4x4) to fit in your pack or in your luggage when you travel. The waxed canvas helps keep whatever is in the tray dry so you can set your tinder on it. It is also great for holding other items like your keys or pipe. The tray laid out flat measures 15" x 15". Snaps the corners together and you get a great tray that is about 10" x 10" base and 2.5" sides. Fold it in half and you get a pouch. This tray has snaps on each corner to keep its shape.

The 10.1 oz waxed canvas used on the product is made using a specialized process that was created in the 1800s. Martexin Original Wax has a superior finish that is made with an environmentally friendly blend of waxes that is non-hazardous. This fabric process creates a lifelong resistance to weather and it will develop a beautifully worn look. The 100 % cotton fabric will show scratches and become distressed but will continue to look better over time as it develops its own patina.
