72 Hours, One Ultralight Pack: Watch Jason Salyer Put Our Cinch Pack to the Test
When it comes to designing gear that’s built for real-world adventure—without weighing you down—we couldn’t ask for a better partner than Jason Salyer.
You might recognize Jason from the History Channel’s Alone: The Beast, where he spent 25 days surviving in the wild with nothing but his skills and sheer grit. These days, he shares that same passion and experience through his YouTube channel, offering practical advice, gear reviews, and survival strategies.
We collaborated with Jason to design a pack that met his high standards for weight, durability, and functionality. The result? Our PNWBUSHCRAFT Cinch Pack, crafted from a 4 oz waxed canvas/nylon blend that’s lightweight, tough, and folds down small for easy carry. Whether you’re heading out for a day hike, building a go-bag, or packing light for an overnighter, this pack is made to go the distance.
Jason recently put it to the test during his 72-hour ultralight challenge, using the cinch pack as his primary bag. He walks through what he packed, how it performed, and why it held up in a true minimalist setup.
🎥 Check out the video below and see how it handled the challenge:
We’re proud of this collaboration—and even more excited to see it hold up in the field with someone who knows what it means to trust your gear.
